This is one of the five temple models that were constructed before the 8th century AD at Mahabalipuram which is located along the Bay of Bengal in the state of Tamal Nadu. These temples were designed to honor the Lord Shiva.

Visit to India Broadens, Tempers Views about Country

Wayne Potter and his wife, Pam Brown traveled to India between mid-March and mid-April 2007. They took advantage of the Elderhostel program and traveled with 28 other American travelers. Their comrades in travel came from all parts of the United States, the closest coming from Idaho. Wayne and Pam started their trip from San Francisco and traveled from there to Paris for an overnighter and finally arrived the next day in the city of Chennai. Chennai is located on the Bay of Bengal in southern India. Rice is the primary commodity of south India. It grew everywhere and you'd even find people winnowing the rice in the middle of the road. It seemed quite dangerous, however, has been done this way for centuries.

 

Potter's products waiting for prospective owners in a rural, farming community in southern India. Much of the Indian economy is based on a village system that both serves the local populace but, in some ways, restricts larger economic development.
